Aussie Band The Living End have wrapped recording on their sixth album, which they worked on in Melbourne, Australia at the Red Door Sounds Studio. The new set of songs, which will now be shipped to mixmaster Brendan OBrien (Pearl Jam, Springsteen) for mixing, have also been road-tested by the band over the past few months - they selected the albums tracklisting from over 3 dozen new tunes, including Postcard American Town, Heatwave, and Black and White

If stateside is more your scene, no problem - Chicagos Lollapalooza Fest is back for 2011 (August 5-7), and has announced the majority of their roster for this year. Cee-Lo will be making a return trek to Chi-town, and along with him on 8 stages will be the likes of Muse, Foo Fighters, The Cars, Arctic Monkeys, Crystal Castles, Deadmau5, OK Go, Manchester Orchestra, and many more
David Heyman, one of the producers of the Harry Potter movies, is now looking to work a different kind of film magic - that of bringing a new view of The Beatles to the big screen. Heymans next project is slated to be an animated film that will feature insect characters combined with Beatles songs; and for those thinking, huh? keep in mind that The Beatles actually all appeared as animated characters themselves in the 1960s film Yellow Submarine
MODERN ROCK LINK OF THE WEEK:
80s songstress Kate Bush, perhaps best known for her collaborations with esoteric musician Peter Gabriel, last toured in 1979 - but fans might be getting a chance to see Kate on the road again. Her new album, Directors Cut, was just released last week, and shes indicated that shes hoping shell be able to do some live work before she gets too ancient.
