...the men of Parallel 45 Theatre, that is. The Northern Michigan company brings actors from across the country with local ties for annual performances. First up this season is Shakespeare's "R&J," an all-male adaptation of William Shakespeare's play set in a parallel universe where the Bard is banned. Four young prep school boys decide to break the rules and break out a copy of "Romeo and Juliet," which immerses them in the world of Shakespeare. Parallel 45 takes the stage of Elk Rapids High School's Peterman Auditorium on Aug. 21-24 at 7 p.m.; and Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available at parallel45.org.
