Fresh & Unbiased I have always enjoyed reading the Northern Express to discover all the cool things happening in our region. However, as the time went by, the level of left wing bias became more evident.

Racism Continues Even before the United States was an official nation, we were a country that practiced slavery. We are a country of slavery for more years than we have been not.

Rich Get Richer The other morning NPR said that GM had so much money the board of directors bought back $5 billion in stock.

With good health and time available, we cleared our schedules and relied on friends and family to fill in on the home front. We dropped our youngest daughter off at college, and took off for a 10-month, 9,000-mile journey around the perimeter of the USA on touring bicycles.

Art Al Parker Growing up in Petoskey, Jason Thelen dreamed of being a surfer and riding the big saltwater waves. But fate kept him near fresh water, so he adapted accordingly and began building custom standup paddleboards that “take the big lake’s little waves,” he said.

Making a quick layover at our regional airports

Features Jodee Taylor While the number of flights in and out of the Traverse City airport has stayed fairly constant — about 50 to 60 a day in the summertime — the number of passengers has gone up. And, probably as a result, airfares in and out of TVC have gone down, meaning flying in and out of Traverse City makes economic sense again.
