More About Kachadurian Columnist Tom Kachadurian’s recent fit to slash out at the world of science and scientists is just another example of his profound ignorance and shallowness...

Love Wins Wow! Donald Trump scares me! He is a nasty individual who has the one thing that makes him dangerous…money! If he becomes president, the U.S. will be completely destroyed. It is already in serious trouble...

The New Normal Fifty more gunned down. They say it was a gay bar. Remember “saloons” had a connotation of a specific “type” of entertainment. Today, bars are simply social meeting places for all walks of life...

'Get off my lawn'

After reading the Letters to the Editors in the July 16th issue I am very curious - how old are the readers of The Express?!

I’ve read it for years (I’m 30) and so have my friends and perhaps I was assuming something untrue in that the readers tended to be under the age of 80.

The letters people have written take on this point of view of an old man sitting on his porch yelling at kids to get off of his lawn. It doesn’t fit!

To those who continue to oppose any labor groups; attempt to organize a union, let us look at the description of the word, “union.” It can be a bloc, club, guild, alliance, marriage, fellowship, and any coalition of groups...

Health costs gone wild

How Much For Defense?

Other Opinions Jack Segal July is a busy time on Capitol Hill as Congress considers the final round of appropriations decisions for the FY 2016 Federal Budget. In twelve major bills, our representatives are debating how to spend $3.8 trillion dollars next year. That’s not a typo — $3,800,000,000,000.

Bad Civics

Features Stephen Tuttle They conduct research from time to time. In August 2015 they attempted to find out what college graduates know about basic civics. They surveyed 1,000 grads. It took them until January to release the results, and no wonder. The results weren’t altogether encouraging.

The Scalia Lesson

Other Opinions Stephen Tuttle Instead, we’re witnessing why Congress has a 13 percent approval rating. The Republicancontrolled Senate, led by Obstructionist In Chief and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, has declared they won’t allow any nominee to even get so much as a hearing. They don’t care who it is.
