Interlochen Wetlands Dispute

Features Patrick Sullivan Opponents say this wetlands complex is exactly what is supposed to be protected under the Wetland Protection Act, and the developer and state shouldn’t be allowed to get away with flouting the law. They say the project could ruin habitat for several protected species and threaten a wetland complex that is crucial to the health of Green Lake.

The Fracking Debate

In March, The Sierra Club declared fracking should be banned in Michigan, and another group seeking to end the practice plans to collect signatures to put an anti-fracking initiative on the ballot in 2016.

Features Kristi Kates In the winter, it’s all about the snowshoeing out on Old Mission Peninsula. Or at least, mostly about the snowshoeing. Snowshoe Wine and Brew — a popular outing organized by Mission Table, Bowers Harbor Vineyards, and Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery — drew legions of hardy stompers and sippers every Sunday, late December through February.
