Perplexing Eighth Street Changes I’m writing to you about the way 8th Street in Traverse City is organized. I commute on 8th Street daily like hundreds of others.

115 Years of Injustice Investigative reporter Pat Sullivan’s March 23 article “BURNOUT” exposed for the first time to many northern Michigan residents the 115-year-old tragedy that took place at Burt Lake in October of 1900.

     WARD Gallery has had a busy spring! Going further than just the old �euro;�spring cleaning,�euro;� they have gotten a face lift inside and out! To celebrate all the hard work, WARD Gallery is pleased to announce their Gallery Preview during Petoskey Rocks! Summer Open House, to be held on June 6th from 5 �euro;�euro;� 7pm. Gallery Manager Timothy Chapman will host a gallery talk on his sculptural work made of found driftwood entitled: �euro;�The ABC's of Driftwood.�euro;� Inspired by the work of French artists Marcel Duchamp and Andre Breton, Chapman is fascinated by found objects, things he picks up off the streets of New York City, or combs from the beaches of Lake Michigan.  His driftwood sculptures where exhibited at Gallery 128, in New York City. Chapman studied Industrial Design at Wayne State University, and graduated from Queens College, City University of New York. He also earned an MFA in Creative Writing from New School University in New York City.

The Summer Open House is the first of what will be weekly events at the gallery, each featuring the work of contemporary Michigan artists newly represented by WARD Gallery Loft, shown in rotation. Artists from Michigan and across the country will be offering work in water color, acrylic and oil painting; photography, drawing and pastel; wood and bronze sculpture; work in glass and collage. Stop in at the gallery during Petoskey Rocks! Summer Open House, for a preview of the exciting line up of contemporary fine art. WARD Gallery is located above Ciao Bella! at 409 E.
