Known by staffers and customers as “Maggie” this native of Romania has mastered the art of baking. After immigrating to this country in
the 1980’s she made
her way to Detroit and began working in a Jewish bakery before making her way to Suttons Bay. Maggie whips up sev-eral delicious treats each day including delightful cinnamon rolls and her famous “Maggie’s Covered Wagons.”
Desserts are an essential part of any dinner party. If you are charged with bringing a dessert or if you are hosting a party, desserts from Silvertree will make you the hit of the party. The Ribbon Cake is as impressive tasting as it looks. Serve after dinner with Cherry Port from Leelanau Cellars (check out Silvertree’s Wall of Wine, the greatest collection of Michigan’s wines anywhere). Suttons Bay is a charming community full of locally owned shops and great places to eat. Make it a picnic destination this summer and after a stroll of the downtown streets all your dining needs will be found at Silvertree. Maggie also slices up her creations, so don’t forget the dessert. www.thesilvertreedeli.com View On Our Website
