Cozy Up by the Warmth of the Kiln

Stuff We Love
Jan. 10, 2026

One of our favorite ways to get out of the house, turn on our creative brains, and brighten up the day is a trip to Handz on Art in downtown TC. A perfect outing for families and adults alike, there’s nothing quite as cozy as sitting inside the pottery-painting studio while the snow swirls outside along the Boardman-Ottaway River. Handz on Art has a huge variety of pottery pieces up for grabs, from practical kitchenware like spoonholders and storage canisters, to always-in-style mugs and bowls, to adorable figurines that kiddos will love. Expect prices in the $15-$60 range for most selections, but they can get up to $150 for the biggest pieces. Once you’ve finished your project, you’ll hand it over to be glazed and fired, which usually takes about one week, before you bring it home. No reservations are needed (though it’s recommended to call ahead with a group of six or more). Learn more at tchandzonart.com.
