Winter Trails Day 2025

Celebrated throughout the North, Winter Trails Day invites kids and grown-ups alike to discover the fun of trail-based snowsports. On Jan. 10, Crystal Mountain’s Cross-Country Center offers a free clinic including a lesson, day pass, and rental equipment from 1-3pm. (Must register by calling (231) 378-3110, as space is limited.) Also on Jan. 10, the Great Lakes Winter Trails Council teams up with the Cross Country Ski Headquarters in Roscommon for free beginner lessons starting at 10:30am (limited to 25 people; first come, first served) and a Winter Trails Day of fun ($9 adults; $6 kids) with group lessons, hot dogs and cocoa, and trail adventures. Learn more at cross-country-ski.com. And save the date for TART Trails’ Winter Trails Day on Jan. 17 at Timber Ridge Resort with free fat tire bike, cross-country ski, and snowshoe demos!
