Alpine Chocolats

Tastemaker
By Al Parker | Feb. 8, 2020

Here's your chance to score some sinfully delectable treats for your Valentine from the number-one chocolate shop in the state, Gaylord's Alpine Chocolat Haus. The chocolatier was given that high ranking late last year by mentalfloss.com. Manager Heather McKinnon says that chocolate-covered fruits and nuts do well at the store.

“Our chocolate-covered oranges and strawberries, along with our pecan caramels are among our most popular choices,” she said.
Potato chips slathered in chocolate, gourmet hot chocolate, decorated candy apples and sea salt caramel corn are other favorites at the Gaylord location and at the other shops in Boyne City, Sault St. Marie, and Plymouth.

Whether you grab a bag or a big box, you'll enjoy the sweet treats created by “der Chocolatmeister” Bruce Brown and his staff. They been crafting chocolates and making folks smile since 1985.

We found ours at 208 W. Main St., right next to the landmark Sugar Bowl restaurant. (989)732-1077, www.alpine-chocolat-haus.com.
