Owned by holistic chiropractor Dr. Jena Hullman, the café’s approach to juices, smoothies, coffee and other beverages is to use only wholesome ingredients, strictly avoiding refi ned sugars and carbs, gluten, and artifi cial sweeteners.
Elixir’s juice menu offers a number of 12-ounce options ranging from $3.50-$5.50 and features mixtures of fruits and greens. Its popular Foxy Detox contains apple, lemon, ginger, spinach and parsley.
The café’s smoothies contain no sugar or corn syrup, but are tailormade for a sweet tooth nonetheless.
The Chai Charger mixes house-made chai, banana, date, nut milk, almond butter, vanilla and cinnamon. The Cuckoo for Cacao is a healthy swap-out for a chocolate shake.
Elixir also offers pint-size smoothies for little ones, and is one of the few shops in Michigan serving up direct-trade Stumptown Coffee.
