Big(s) Men

Stuff We Love
By Lynda Wheatley | June 11, 2022

Hey guys, Bigs Up North—part of the nonprofit Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America—is making a “desperate plea” for 62 men to mentor the 62 boys on the waiting list for a Big Brother in the region. The organization has launched a “Be the Men in MENtoring” campaign and is on the hunt for guys willing to volunteer four to six hours a month. The Bigs team will give you customized professional support, including training and guidance, and you can pick which kind of Bigs program works best for you. Choose from Lunch Buddies, where you meet with your Little Brother over lunch at school, or be part of a Big Duo, where you can team up with a friend, co-worker, partner, spouse, parent, or sibling to mentor your Little. Whichever approach you take, the impact will be life-changing, says Big Brother Jessie Carrigan. “Whether it is being a good role model, a listening ear, or providing simple guidance; it will profoundly change their path in life.” Interested in learning more?
