Candles Helping Goats (and Other Farm Animals)

Stuff We Love
July 5, 2025

If you read this year’s Fascinating People issue, you learned about Sara Leffingwell, the founder of Peace Gate Farm Sanctuary, which works to “rescue farmed animals in need, rehabilitate them with care, and inspire compassion through ethical education.” Current residents of the sanctuary include goats, a Highland cow, a rooster, a giant rabbit, and a scruffy barn cat (named Scruffy). But did you know Leffingwell also runs Peach’s Candle Company, an adorable Etsy shop filled with ethically-made candles that help support the Peace Gate mission? The shop’s namesake was a goat called Peach who inspired the business and its give-back nature. Choose from scents like peach (of course), peony, lavender, ocean breeze, clean cotton, rustic woods, warm vanilla sugar, pumpkin spice, and others. The candles come in 8oz ($14) and 16oz ($24) sizes. Shop at etsy.com/shop/peachscandleco.
