Sixty Years of Alpenfest

Sixty years—can you believe it?! This Alpenfest will be one for the books, and all the fun runs from July 8-12 in Gaylord. While a few events fall earlier in the day, the opening ceremonies begin at 5pm on Tuesday. Catch live music—from Alpenfest Idol to Fleetwood Macked—before the iconic Burning of the Böögg, where you write your troubles on a slip of paper and then watch them burn away. Wednesday is Kids’ Day, with a slate of crafts, parades, competitions, capped with a performance from The Insiders (a Tom Petty tribute band). The rest of the week rolls on with plenty more concerts and performances, workshops and activities, the Alpenfest Queens Pageant, a 5k/10k run, the Alpenfest Grand Parade, and more.
