Donating Ahead of Cold Weather

Hard to believe, but winter is not that far away. Jubilee House, Traverse City’s only drop-in day shelter for adults experiencing homelessness which serves over 500 people per year, has started their Cold Weather Drive to collect winter gear. Their wish list includes: heavy-duty and waterproof winter coats and snow pants, boots, blankets, thermal underwear, backpacks, gloves and mittens, heavy-duty sleeping bags, new tarps, and long-lasting hand warmers. Per the organization, “Men’s coats, snow pants and thermal underwear in size large and above and boots size 10 and above are especially needed.” Donations can be dropped at 325 Washington St. in Traverse City Monday through Friday from 10am-5:30pm now through Nov. 21 when the drive ends.
