Paint the Town Pink in Manistee

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Manistee is teaming up with Munson Healthcare to paint the town pink. First up is an “Empower Hour” Women’s Health Symposium at the West Shore Community College Building on Oct. 1 at 5:30pm with talks from experts, caregivers, and survivors. The event is free; registration is required. Then, on Oct. 3, join in the inaugural (and unofficially timed) 5K and free 1-mile remembrance walk that travels along the shores of First Street Beach and through downtown Manistee, starting and finishing near the Manistee Municipal Marina. Participants are encouraged to deck themselves out in as much pink as possible! If you don’t have any pink gear, Munson has shirts available for purchase.
