Join in honoring the history, living cultures, & enduring presence of Indigenous peoples in Leelanau County & beyond. Throughout the day, enjoy opportunities to experience & learn about Anishinaabek history & culture, free admission to the Leelanau Historical Society Museum & its Traditional Anishinaabek Arts Room. An evening program will feature James Vukelich Kaagegaabaw, a descendant of Turtle Mountain, international speaker, author, educator, & creator of Ojibwe Word of the Day.
