A Symphonic Celebration of Home

Stuff We Love
Aug. 15, 2026

Petoskey-based singer-songwriter and composer Tony Manfredonia is putting the Mitten State on the map with a special performance at the City Opera House in Traverse City on Aug. 23. Manfredonia will present more than an hour of original music “inspired by Northern Michigan’s communities, landscapes, and experiences,” per a press release from the composer. Northern Symphonic Winds and a live string ensemble will bring to life places like Petoskey, Boyne City, and Traverse City in “A Symphonic Celebration of Home.” The show is presented as part of the nationwide America 250 celebration, and the City Opera House describes the music as “the power and grandeur of orchestral music PLUS the modern touch of pop — and some brilliant songwriting.” General admission tickets are $30 or $20 for students 18 and younger, seniors, and military; details at cityoperahouse.org/events/usahome.
