Couples who register at www.thehoneymoon.com can set up their dream wedding trip. Then, guests can buy portions of the honeymoon as wedding gifts.
“The process of creating this honeymoon registry is quite simple,” says Kristie Ryder-Slater of Third Rock Travel in Lake Ann. “I work directly with the bride and groom to acquire as much information about their honeymoon, including their budget, destination, length of stay, type of accommodation desired, type of meals, activities and excursions they wish to include and any other options they may have. When this process is complete, I create the registry, categorizing their needs and assigning a dollar value to each component.”
That means that on a honeymoon to Jamaica, for instance, wedding guests would be able to purchase a horseback outing on the beach for $80, a jetski rental at $75, a snorkeling excursion at $35, or a Bob Marley tour at $30, among other offerings. As you can imagine, the list goes on with many travel thrills for the honeymooning couple.
Other aspects of the trip are broken down into portions. A $100 massage for the bride, for instance, might be available in donations of $10. You can donate all or part of a travel experience.
“This program will allow some couples the opportunity to partake in activities and experiences that they may not have been able to accommodate into their plans,” Ryder-Slater says.
