Couple to seek skydiving record
Skydive Harbor Springs is hosting a Guinness World Record Event on June
29, with the public invited to come and watch.
Starting at 6 p.m., Luther Kurtz and Angela Bishop will attempt to
break the world record for the most tandem jumps in a 24-hour period.
The current record was set last summer at 103 tandem jumps in 24 hours.
The event will be centered around raising money for the Top of Michigan
Trails Council. For more info go to www.WorldRecordTandemJump.com.
Johan’s bakery will be serving coffee and doughnuts to keep the action
jumping for the entire 24 hours. Come out and enjoy the event and make
a pledge for the Trails Council.

‘Bullies‘ in Bay Harbor
Bay Harbor was the site of a film shoot last week: Bullies on Vacation,
a dark comedy short film was shot over a three-day period before moving
on to another location in Grand Rapids.
Written by Brian VanderArk, the frontman for the Verve Pipe (“We Were
Only Freshmen”), the comedy is directed by Devon Gummersall of My
So-Called Life and star’s Mad Men’s Mark Kelly. It’s about a writer on
vacation up north who encounters a bully who tormented him as a child. A
resulting sucker punch leads to complications and lessons learned.
