June 16, 2004
Be sure to sit down while you’re reading this: The Leland Furniture and Fine Art Show returns for a second season the weekend of June 18-20 with a chair-ful chairity.
The organizers of the show have teamed up with Traverse City’s Miracle Manor to kick off the “Chair a Child” Campaign. The campaign features the work of area furniture artists, three of which are the original organizers of the Leland Furniture and Fine Art Show. Joe Buteyn, Joe Stearns, and Matt Joppich all have donated their time to create chairs which will be sold to benefit the Manor.
Other exhibitors at the show will include custom furniture maker Jim Rantala along with landscape artists Mary Fuscaldo, Kaye Krapohl, Joyce Petrakovitz and Nancy Stuck. The show will be held at the Old Art Building in downtown Leland.
The opening is scheduled for 6 to 8 pm Friday, June 18. Show hours are: Friday from 1 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
