Zack Mahrle

A senior at Traverse City Central High School, Zack is a skateboarder and a singer-songwriter
with a local rock group. Thanks to a thoughtful touch from Santa, he’s also a budding video-
grapher with a new digital camera. In short,

A ticket to England. I’m going to Europe with some friends in May and we’re going to Barcelona, Berlin and Amsterdam.

Some Valenki boots from Russia.I learned about them in my Russian language class; they’re like socks almost, but waterproof.

Chloe:
I want Brian’s plane ticket to England. Either that or a new Wi-Fi connection for my laptop.

Perfect for the person who has absolutely everything, the Rangefinder uses a combination of laser and digital technology to take the guesswork out of measuring distances.
According to Bushnell, the Rangefinder “uses an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam which is “bounced” off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder’s high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within +/– 1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display.”
Why would anyone need to measure distances? Well, on the golf course, for instance, to figure out exactly how much uumph you need for a long drive, or what you’ve got to do to avoid a water hazard. Or perhaps to determine how far you are from the stage at the next Ozzfest.
