Caution: Wet Paint in Northport

By Jamie Kauffold | July 11, 2026

Launched in 2013, this year’s Gene Rantz Memorial Plein Air Paint Out takes place July 17-18. More than 50 artists will paint throughout the northern Leelanau Peninsula and the Village of Northport and capture the beauty of the village, beaches, marina, orchards, vineyards, and landscapes. The Wet Paint Sale/opening reception at Northport Arts Association in the Village Arts Building runs Saturday from 6-9pm and features fresh-off-the-easel paintings, complimentary appetizers, and more. Tickets are $15 online or $20 at the door. Exhibit runs through Aug. 1. mynorthtickets.com
