We don’t normally blow smoke when it comes to beverages, but we’re willing to make an exception for the Smoked Honey Pear Tea-Ni at Barrel Back Restaurant in Walloon Lake. Inspired by the crisp-meets-warming flavor palette of early fall (and to echo the kitchen’s house-smoked meats), this fireside sip just dropped as part of Barrel Back’s Applewood Smoked Autumn menu. Featuring a base of Tanqueray gin infused with Osulloc’s honey pear black tea blend, this transitional ’tini is shaken with homemade honey-vanilla syrup, fresh lemon juice, and a touch of honey, house-smoked with applewood. Bright and fresh, but with a woody depth and gentle sweetness, it’s the perfect pear-ing for autumn. (Ordering the whipped feta with honey, veggies, and pita also makes for a killer combo!).
