Starship to Rock the Fest!

They may not be the original Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship that broke musical ground back in 1965, but this spinoff of the psychedelic rock outfit can still reel in the crowds. Even after multiple member and name changes, the band’s current live setlists still read like a ’70s-’80s hit list. “Somebody to Love,” “We Built This City,” “Jane” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” are just a few of the tunes you’ll likely recognize from the past 35 years of radio, which is probably why soundtracks from current shows like “Glee” and movies like “Skeleton Twins” have included Starship songs. You might even hear a few tunes from “Loveless Fascination,” the band’s newest album.

The Charlevoix Venetian Festival welcomes Starship with Mickey Thomas to the headlining stage this year on Wednesday, July 22 at 7pm.
