And Don’t Miss Chris Smither
March 18, 2016

When singer-songwriter Chris Smither hit 50 years of singing and songwriting in 2014, he marked the occasion with Still on the Levee, a two-disc career retrospective recorded in New Orleans and featuring fresh versions of two dozen songs from the entire stretch of his career, including "Devil Got Your Man," the first song he ever wrote. But, the celebration wasn’t over; record label Signature Sounds then released an all-star tribute album called Link of Chain featuring cover performances of Smither’s songs by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Loudon Wainwright, Josh Ritter and Ms. Patty Larkin herself, further solidifying his many contributions to the American folk and blues music scenes. Hear Smither in person during his upcoming performance at Freshwater Studio in Boyne City on May 7, when his concert will serve as the wrap up for the venue’s 2016 winter season.
