Wilco working to Get Well Soon...

June 12, 2011
Get Well Soon Everybody is the working title for Wilco’s upcoming eighth studio album, which will serve as the follow-up to the band’s 2009 set, Wilco (the album.) They’ve reportedly tracked a couple dozen songs already for the set, which is being recorded at the band’s own studio in Chicago, with an eye on a fall release date. The latest tunes are said to be a blend of experimental indie-rock plus Americana plus a few tribal influences, and will be released on Wilco’s recently-formed record label, dBpm Records; a nearly 15-minute long jam-track may also be included on the set, all ten verses of it…
Hip-hop fest Rock the Bells is bringing back their “Classics” theme for the 2011 Rock the Bells tour, which will include several headliners performing classic albums of their own in their entirety, including Lauryn Hill performing The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, Cypress Hill performing the Black Sunday album, and Nas performing Illmatic. Mos Def and Talib Kweli will be reprising their collaboration’s self-titled 1998 debut set, and regular sets will be performed by Erykah Badu, Curren$y, and a host of others…
Pink Floyd are finally making plans to remaster all 14 of their studio albums, and will also be putting together deluxe editions of the band’s albums that are set to include demo tracks, live cuts, and more. The Wall co-producer James Guthrie will be doing the remastering duties, with the studio albums being made individually or as a box set; the special deluxe “Experience” edition albums, which will be limited to The Dark Side of the Moon, You Were Here, and The Wall, will get the two-disc treatment, with the remastered album on one disc and the bonus goodies on the second. The albums will begin hitting stores in late September in the U.S….
They broke up back in 2004, departing their home label of RCA Records, but now it looks like SoCal rockers Eve 6 are back, having signed a new record deal with Fearless Records. The band, who have been quietly and methodically touring and working on their internet sites, recently brought back original guitarist Jon Siebels, which effectively unites Eve 6’s complete original lineup; snagging old producer Don Gilmore (who produced the band’s 2001 hit album Horrorscope) to helm their latest set was the final piece of the puzzle…
