Manistee Belonged in Story

In Patrick Sullivan’s article there was no mention of the county that would have put the cherry on top his premise on the divide between rich and poor. The omission of Manistee County left off one of the counties with the highest welfare rates. Besides, we think we are part of the Up North scene; we don’t think we’re just chopped liver.

More crony captalism

I really enjoyed Stephen Tuttle’s recent article titled "A line in the tar sands. Mr. Tuttle has a way of making you think on both sides of an issue. Maybe it was because of limited space, but he omitted the fact that Obama got elected, and re-elected, in part with the environmentalist help so he has to appease that part of his base. So therefore, if they say delay it, it gets delayed. Also, as Stephen wrote, railroads are now transporting that oil. What’s missing is the fact that Warren Buffet owns that railroad, and he’s a big contributor to Obama and the democrat party, so in my eyes it’s just more crony capitalism. We have seen in the past just what Obama’s crony capitalism has bought us, absolutely nothing, not to mention the propping up of Wall Street fat cats (most of them huge bundlers for Barry and the gang) with millions of dollars a month wrapped up in phony baloney bonds. Where’s O.W.S. when you need them? Funny how the protesters disappear when it’s their guy doing the funny business!

Tax Junk Food or Ban Boxing?

So, if you break it down to its simple basics, Bill Bustance likes oatmeal and thinks it shouldn’t be taxed. He doesn’t like Cheerios and thinks they should be taxed and the revenue should be used for roads (Huh?!). I don’t like boxing, a sport with a high potential for causing serious injury, even death. So, we should ban boxing. I assume my preferences will carry as much weight as those of Mr. Bustance, especially since they are much more well thought through and infinitely more defensible.
