Running toward Fall in Frankfort

Oct. 3, 2026

Fall festivals are going to be running nonstop from now until November, and Frankfort is no exception! The annual Frankfort Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9am-6pm. Expect all your favorite activities: the parade and accompanying Mutt March, live music, pumpkin carving and decorating, games for kids and grown-ups (including a cornhole tournament), and a craft fair packed with local talent. Learn more here: frankfortdowntown.com/fall-fest. That same day is the Port City Run starting at 9am, a 5K race which journeys from Open Space Park along the Betsie Valley Trail, into Elberta, and then back. Registration is $29+ (prices go up after Oct. 5) at runsignup.com/Race/MI/Frankfort/PortCityRun. Funds raised from the event will help support the Frankfort-Elberta Area cross-country and track programs.
